January Group Night

These are the cards we made on Group Night January 12, 2010.

I love the new DSP from the Mini Occasions catalogue from Stampin' Up!
Stamp Set: Crazy for Cupcakes
Card Stock: Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White, Sending Love DSP.
Ink: Basic Black, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Close to Cocoa.
Accessories: Aqua painter, ribbon.

I love this card and the Bella Toille background that was stamped off first to mute the Chocolate Chip richness. I know that I cased this from somewhere and I apologize for not paying more attention to the artist and giving them their rightful credit.
Stamp Set: Bella Toille, Wings of Friendship.
Card Stock: Chocolate Chip, Barely Banana, Very Vanilla.
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Cuttlebug, Nesties circle and scallop circle, ribbon.

This stamp set really is meant for masculine cards. Used watercolour paper to create a full moon sunset. We didn't have much luck in getting the image to stamp dark black; thinking the paper was still too wet but not sure.
Stamp Set: Nature's Silhouette, On your Birthday.
Card Stock: Basic Black, Mellow Moss, Really Rust, So Saffron, Watercolour.
Ink: Staz-On Jet Black, So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie, Really Rust.
Accessories: water mister, aqua painter, stamp-ama-jig, sponge dauber, amt pack, piercing tool, brads.

It's a purple card! I made one of these before but instead of purple I used Basic Black with the Kraft. Since I was already using black on another card I wanted to use a different colour. It does look nicer in the black though, I must admit.

Stamp Set: Simple Friendship, Kind and Caring Thoughts.

Card Stock: Kraft, Lovely Lilac, Vellum, Very Vanilla.

Ink: Lovely Lilac.

Accessories: Spray Adhesive, 1 3/4 inch circle punch, ribbon, scissors, dimensional.

Last but not least, out paper craft item was this little notepad with cover. A little time consuming, not my typical paper craft but I've had the tutorial for this one a long while and it was time to use it. I put my little twist on it though, the original didn't have the button latch and it doesn't really need it. It does close properly but I like the look.

Stamp Set: Inspired by Nature

Card Stock: More Mustard, Close to Cocoa, Very Vanilla, Autumn Traditions DSP

Ink: Close to Cocoa, More Mustard, Old Olive.

Accessories: Scoring tool, piercing tool. stamp-ama-jig, corduroy button, gold elastic cord, notepad, sponge daubers

Pile It Eternity in Purple

Another two in one challenge. Crafts 4 Eternity had a real doosy of a challenge for me: using a colour that you don't like. Can you guess which colour that is? If you know me, it's actually a no brainer: PURPLE. And it's funny because every single card that I've made using purple have come out wonderful and spectacular, including this one.

Crafts 4 Eternity challenge was use the sketch, a colour you don't like and rick rack. I've had the rick rack for over a year and never did anything with it but I had to have it.
Then there's the Pile It On! challenge: "Tie it On!" use 3 different ribbons and combine (pile) challenges.

I think this turned out wonderful. I love this stamp set.

Sweet Sunday Stamptacular Friend

This is a dual challenge card using the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #52 and Stamptacular Sunday #42.

This is what I came up with.

I stamped the Damask image first in silver, let it dry and then stamped sentiment in black over top. Funny thing that the silver looks like it was stamped over the black. Maybe it was still a little wet, I don't know but I like it anyway.

Sunday Challenges

Since I didn't have to go to Red Deer today, I was able to do two cards today and complete three challenges. I love challenges; it doesn't matter how many people play, not one single card is the same. I love challenges so much that I've invited some of my local Stampin' Up! friends to play along with the three challenges I've picked. I hope everyone plays and displays their creation.

For my first card, I combined the 365 Cards challenge with the Corrosive challenge and came up with this beauty. My favourite two embellishments have got to be ribbon and brads. I love the Simple Friendship butterfly. For this card I even used some Simply Scrappin' Rose Cottage DSP that I've had around forever.Stamp Set: Simple Friendship
Card Stock: Simply Scrappin' Rose Cottage, Soft Sky, River Rock, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Ticket corner punch, sponge dauber, ribbon, brads
And for my next card, I went clean and simple with the Card Positioning Systems sketch. Again using up some Simply Scrappin' but this one is Crew Girl.

Stamp Set: none

Cards Stock: Simply Scrappin' - Crew Girls, Wild Wasabi

Ink: none

Accessories: Simply Scrappin' - Crew Girls

I don't know why there's so much space between the "ingredients" but I can't seem to fix it. I've deleted it al least 4 times, and backspaced a few times in case there was some kind of tab feature but whatever; it'll have to do.

Little Wonder

This is a Saturday multiple challenge card. I didn't have time to post this yesterday, sorry.

I used something new (stamp set)and something from my stash (eyelets) and this sketch from All Sorts. Then, my new all time favourite challenge site, 365 Cards, Day 308 required to stamp on ribbon.
Crazy 4 Challenges #18 specified using polka dots. And finally, the Secret Crafter #64 challenge was themed "New Beginnings"; stroller means new baby to me.

Here's my card:

Stamp Set: Doodle Baby - by Autumn Leaves
Card Stock: Simply Scrappin - Crew Girl: Regal, Rose, Wild Wasabi, Sahara Sand, Whisper White
Ink: Regal Rose, Wild Wasabi
Accessories; Cuttlebug, Nesties (scallop circle), Marvy purple circle punch, Baby Stuff eyelets, twill tape, Crop-a-Dile.

Another Multi Challenge

Happy New Year!
Rang in the New Year in great spirits and great hopes. One of my commentator, Cheri had emailed me with a lead to a blog with a list of daily challenges web site link called The Daily Dare. Check it out if you need more challenges to play along with.

So I wake up this morning ready to tackle a multiple challenge card again. So with pen in hand, I start my list: Splitcoast Stampers Friday Limited Supply - where you're limited to 15, using something new, and theme an annual event. 365 Cards - Day 307 - "Five for Friday" using 5 different elements 5 times on the card. KEWL EBKCC13 - colour challenge. Stamp Something - again using something new. And finally Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge. I was thinking I can do this. HA!

So here's my card:

So I failed the Splitcoast challenge by not completing a card in 15 minutes. Shouldn't have been a problem but being a multiple challenge card it was. Failed the Five for Friday challenge by not being able to use 5 different elements, 5 times. I had 5 points on the Medallion, I used 5 dew drops, there's 5 colours and I was going to put 5 butterflies but not use the stamped image. And that's all I came up with.
In the end I completed 3 of the 5 challenges I set for myself but I'm not giving up. I will try this again in the near future and show you what I come up with.
Stamp Set: Medallion, Always in my Thoughts
Card Stock: Soft Suede, Kraft, Ballet Blue, Bravo Burgandy, Whisper White, Christmas Cocoa DSP
Ink: Bravo Burgaandy, Ballet Blue, Basic Black, Old Olive
Accessories: ribbon, ticket corner punch, aqua painter
